Also Featuring Holly Calica Artist and Educator |
| Excerpt, Holly Calica's words, from the site MesaArt Third generation Pilipina American, I teach art to children in San Francisco, as well as study and perform traditional Philippine, Afro-Brazilian music and dance. As a painter and printmaker, I continue my dream of studying traditional arts abroad and using artwork as a means to educate and help maintain tribal arts and culture being disrupted by the global market. In 2005-2006, I have donated a major portion of sales to survivors of the Katrina Hurricane through the Congo Square Revival Initiative. Holly is an exceptional Artist and Educator and an Itinerant Art Teacher for the San Francisco Unified School District. Please view her art work at MesaArt and her mission at Student Digital Arts where you can also view artwork from her 4th and 5th grade art students. Holly is also a dancer. The photograph above shows her creatively poised as a member of the Palabuniyan Kulintang Ensemble. |
